John’s favourite roll was being a father. He loved nothing more than spending time with Andrew and Amanda. They were his biggest accomplishments and they will aspire to follow his legacy of living with kindness and compassion.
John adored his parents and his brothers, Tony, Frank and Rob. He clung to the many beautiful childhood memories. His mother and father taught their children by example the value of love, hard work and commitment. His best moments were shared every Christmas Eve where all listened to childhood stories especially those made on the laneway of Barton.
John’s years of battling various diseases never stopped his love for life. He kept his sense of humour his entire life trying to hide the pain of his ailing body. He had a great ability to make others smile. His great sense of humour will be greatly missed.
John stood proud as a member of Local 183 for 40 years. He started his journey as a labourer and continued to become a union representative in the roads sector. He was very passionate about helping members and stood very proud to have three generations serving a great union.
John loved sports. With great enthusiasm, he followed his favourite teams the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Toronto Maple Leafs. He also served as a coach for the Brampton youth Soccer club for many years.
“What you leave as a legacy is not what is etched in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others. Your legacy on this planet when you leave is how many hearts you touched”.
You are worthy of your achieved legacy. You are a hero in our hearts. Be free for you are loved. Until we meet again
