In memory of

John Boyd Moneypenny

February 10, 1940 -  October 21, 2019

John Boyd Moneypenny (Hollywood)
Born in Ormstown, Quebec, on Feb 10th, 1940.
John passed away on Oct 21st, 2019, at the age of 79 in his sleep at Hospice Wellington. He was surrounded by his wife Karen, his son Sean, his daughter-in-law Jean, and his granddaughter Christelle.
Born in Ormstown, Quebec and raised on the farm by Joe and Rhodeana (Deanie) Moneypenny, John had three brothers Duncan (deceased), Ken (Buzz), and Donny. He worked on the farm until the age of 19 when he joined the Royal Canadian Navy and did a three-year hitch. Upon getting back from the navy, John moved to Brampton, Ontario where he met his soon to be wife Karen Bradbury.
Together they had three children, Sandie (deceased) married to Alan Robins, Sharon (deceased) married to Craig Walker, and Sean married to Jean Xuereb.
John spent many years at Carrier Air Conditioning as a salesman, and for many years playing gigs as a lead guitarist. He enjoyed country and old-style rock and roll music. After his years of service in the navy, John also became an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 55 years, which was recognized earlier this year in Guelph’s local Legion chapter.
John will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Rachel, Jesse, Christelle, Kayla, Holli, Rayven, Cassidy, Alexandria, and great grandchildren Desire, Wanangwa, Solan, Elijah, Sylus and Wyatt.
He will be forever loved and remembered.

Rest in peace, John. Bet it takes you no time to join a band and play that multiple finger picking style again that brought back memories to me of those Chet Atkins' instrumentals when you wondered how one guitar/talent could produce all those notes. Say hi to Dunc for me.
