Joe and I commuted together to Pickleball at Birchmount Community Centre for four years. We would yak the entire commute there and back, and became friends. I will miss him.

His mother and my mother were best friends as they came over from China together. I played hockey with Joe for many many years. It was quite the surprise to me when Joe called and informed me of his condition. I'm really glad I got to sit and talked with him at length the day of my visit. It's always sad when someone leaves this physical plane so early ... rest in comfort and peace.

I had the privilege of meeting Joe on the pickleball courts at Birchmount community centre. Authentically engaging and a joy to be around.

Joe particularly enjoyed the banter that is part of the social fabric of playing pickleball and we who know him are deeply saddened along with each of you. We miss the camaraderie and simply being in the moment in the short time we spent together.

We mourn as each of you mourn as Joe was a kindred spirit who lived life and the many blessings of family and close friends.

We celebrate his life because he was part of our community and our lives.

Rest in the peace and the presence of Jesus, the one who was, is and is to come again!
