Sadly, Joao passed away, on Friday, December 6th, 2024. He was one of eight siblings of Manuel and Rosa Sousa Alves. Joao was most proud of his two daughters, four grandchildren and four great grand children. Aside from his family being the captain of his beloved Santa Clara soccer club and their championships was one of his greatest achievements. He was a talented machinist and carpenter. Joao enjoyed fishing, fixing things and transforming ideas into wood working art. Joao will be lovingly remembered by all his family and friends. He will be forever in our hearts.
Many sincere thanks to all family, friends and caregivers from near and far. Dr. N. Pimlott and staff at Women’s College Hospital. All the kind and compassionate CBI PSW’s care. Friends at West Neighbourhood House and Casa Acores in Toronto.
A Celebration of Joao De Sousa Alves’ Life will be held on Thursday, December 12th, 2024, at The Simple Alternative Funeral Centre, Mississauga (1535 South Gateway Rd., Mississauga, 905-602-1580) at 10am followed by the religious service at 11am and interment to follow at the Assumption Catholic Cemetery (6933 Tomken Rd, Mississauga, L5T 1N4, 905-670-8801).
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stoke Foundation or the West Neighbourhood House would be appreciated.

I send my sympathies to the family and friends of Mr. Alves. He did so much for us at West Neighbourhood House with his handiwork and he volunteered to help out in many ways. Obragado Mr. Alves.
