Joao Emilio Marques

May 27, 1926 -  November 18, 2022

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Joao Marques on November 18th, 2022 in his 96th year. He died at home with his beloved family by his side. Loving husband to his late wife, Leonor (nee Soares, 1999) for 51 years. Forever cherished by his daughter Maria Jose and granddaughter Jacqueline (Tony Infante). Lovingly remembered by his niece Zelia Marques and nephew John Marques. Joao was predeceased by hi son-in-law Americo (2001) and his brothers Manuel, Antonio and Jose.

Family and Friends will be received at THE SIMPLE ALTERNATIVE FUNERAL CENTRE- MISSISSAUGA 1535 South Gateway Road (at Dixie Road, two lights south of Eglinton) 905-602-1580 on Thursday November 24, 2022 for Visitation from 4-8 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held the following day in our Chapel at 11 a.m. with a Visitation one hour prior. Interment to follow at Assumption Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Seniors Life Enhancement Centres Adult Day Program.

Sr. Joao was such a nice person. A gentle and compassionate soul. Always had nice words for everyone. I loved the fact that seemed to have a genuine passion for learning even into his senior years. He always had a great deal of respect for those around him and I respected him tremendously. He will be missed. Our condolences to the whole family. God bless you Sr. Joao.
