It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear angel, Joanne Rose Guy-Vlahakis. God called onto Joanne on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 and she passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side. Beloved wife of John. Loving mother of Kosta and Christian. Cherished daughter of Allan and Rose Guy, and adored daughter in law of Konstantine and Vasiliki. Devoted sister of Rob, Donna (Rick), Eric, Tonia (in law) and Steve (in law). She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all her extended family and friends. Joanne was born on November 20, 1967 in Toronto. She received her bachelor of science and masters in social work from The University of Toronto. She practiced for 25 years helping those in need and less fortunate. Joanne had a passion for helping others and very much loved the outdoors. She was known for her strong opinions, great moral compass and amazing spirit and was very much loved by all those who knew her. In lieu of flowers and in loving memory of Joanne, donations may be made to the Hospital for Sick Children Foundation. May she rest in peace.

My condolences to the family and friends. Joanne wasn’t just a cousin, she was like a sister. Summers when we were young were spent on the farm on Union road. Horses, barns and fields were our playground. Evening spent at the campfire and times spent together will always be my childhood memory. You were always a champion and you will be missed. Xo
