In memory of

Joan Shirley McAllister

September 1, 1936 -  July 13, 2020

McAllister, Joan 1936-2020. It is with great sadness and the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of a loving mother, sister, aunt and the proudest grandmother and great-grandmother. She was welcomed into heaven by her late husband, William McAllister. She will be missed tremendously by her children Janet (Brad) Craddock, Laurie (Brian) Whittaker, Gary (Alison) McAllister. Cherished grandmother to Ryan (Marissa), Amy, Kristy (Dustin), Brittany (Bill), Kyle, Chad, Mitchell, Aidan and adored great-grandmother to Maverick, Chloe, Hailey and Colton.

Joan lived her life with so much joy and was surrounded by as much love as she gave to everyone around her. She loved country music and always had the radio on at home- Garth Brooks was her absolute favourite and she sang along to every word. She enjoyed live country western music jamboree's with her dear friend, Ivan Reesor. She traveled to beautiful places with her friends and family and never passed on an opportunity to go shopping in Buffalo.

She was our guiding light and the glue that kept us all together.

We hope you can join us to celebrate her beautiful life on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Pine Hills Cemetery & Funeral Centre, 625 Birchmount Road, Toronto (Section K, Lot 2483)

Joan was a wonderful woman and my grandmother Vi's best friend. I have fond memories of her coming to visit at the cottage in Orr Lake every summer. She always greeted me and my family with big was hugs and treated me and my siblings like her grandkids. She had a smile that would light up a room.

My condolences to her wonderful family. I hope you find comfort in having the privilege to known such a beautiful soul.

This picture of Joan is EXACTLY how she appeared ..a fixated smile that was GENUINE & WARM .. I hadn’t seen her in years , but will
Always feel the same way about her . She was funny too .. I remember ALWAYS .. when I was walking : running along Rossland Road in Whitby.. and here this car basically mounts the curb .. it was Joan driving , Happy to see me . And waving while looking at me driving .. I giggle to think of it .. There are some people that just stay .. right there .. RIGHT HERE .. in your heart .. Joan , a lot of people have that space cut out just for you xxxooo terrie ❤️ You are something girl 😘
