Joan (Helen) Laycock

Joan (Helen) Laycock, of Riverview passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges Dumont University Hospital, on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at the age of 85 years. Born in Toronto to parents Lillian (Thomson) and John Young, she was a triplet along with Jane and Jimmy and had an older brother Peter. Joan was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, daughter and friend. Joan was also an extremely thoughtful woman who would put the needs of others before her own. Many treasured memories she has left her family and friends. She is in a beautiful place now, she will be deeply missed.
She is survived by daughter Linda Laycock; two sons John Laycock (Eleanor) of Whitby, ON and James Laycock (Margaret) of Riverview, NB; brother, James Young (Carol) of Bobcaygeon, ON; grandchildren, Amy McQuillan of Wasaga Beach, ON, Justin Laycock of Wasaga Beach, ON, Erica Laycock of Toronto, ON, Claire Shane (Jonathan) of Edmonton, AB, Colin Laycock of Whitby, ON, Jake Laycock (Rachel) of Oromocto, NB, Jordan Laycock of Lower Sackville, NS, Jerret Laycock (Vikki) of Lower Sackville, NS,; great grand children Huxley, Alexander and Lexie also many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her sister Jane Kennedy; brother Peter Young and a grandson Jason Laycock.
Celebration of Life will be held at The Simple Alternative Funeral Centre, 1057 Brock Road, Pickering (905-686-5589) on Saturday, March 16, 2019 from 1-4 pm.
Donations in Joan's memory made to the Dr. George L. Dumont Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
