Joan Greene….love, strength, passion, compassion, kindness, brilliance, warmth, humour….

Our Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunty, Niece and Friend was born in Trinidad and Tobago on July 27th, 1941 and graced us all with her presence until September 23rd, 2016.

During her 75 years, Joan lived a grand life, creating an amazing legacy and enriching our lives with wonderful memories that will be forever cherished by all those who loved and adored her.

In lieu of flowers, a charity will be selected in Joan's honour.

Good night a great woman!
I met Joan at Emily Stowe Shelter for Assaulted Women and Children (now Dr. Roz's Healing Place) back in the late 80s. I always tell people she paved the way for me in the field. She was not just a colleague, she was a strong supporter and mentor to all of us especially the young ones who were new in the field of women's movement. May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace. Joan's children and family are blessed to have had such a woman with great strength, passion, compassion and full of wisdom. Please accept my sincere condolences. May the memories and great time you spent with her continue to strengthen you.
