Uncle Jimmy was a man that took the time to truly care for others. He shared his life’s experiences and wisdom on politics, business and generally how to be a good person with me. Those living room discussions were invaluable and something I will always cherish.

When Shirley and I were preparing for our wedding, Uncle Jimmy took the time to visit a tailor with me to ensure the fitting was just right and when he went back and forth from Hong Kong he often took the time to prepare custom made pants for Shirley and I. Beyond words, we were blessed with his love and generosity.

And of course, I will always remember Uncle Jimmy's incredibly loud and contagious laugh, followed by “Ning Ning have you had dinner yet!” whenever Shirley and I called. We couldn’t help but to laugh with him and were uplifted just in his presence. He left a light in my life and as I look at Esther, Johnny, Colman, Simon and Cindy he left an example of a life well lived.

Our Uncle Jimmy will forever be remembered - especially for his big personality, beautiful craftsmanship as a tailor, incredibly powerful yet fantastic laugh, wisdom, generosity, resilience, and everlasting love and faith in all his family and friends.

There were so many happy, vivid moments. Not sure why but I always remember those good times when we visited him at his tailor shop, he would often find time out of his busy schedule to get us kids yummy treats. And one of them became my all time favorite pastry Napoleon. Another of those moments was his morning floor sweeping routines at home and how shiny the floor got! He continued with this routine every single day well into his 90s.

There were also sad moments. But he had always managed to brave through them with us and got right back up with a positive attitude. I feel very lucky and inspired to have such a wonderful role model in life. He will continue to live in my heart always.

Rest in Peace, Uncle Jimmy!
