In memory of

Jesse Claude Maillet

August 27, 1985 -  July 30, 2022

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Jesse Claude Maillet on July 30, 2022, at the young age of 36.

Jesse was born in Newmarket on August 27, 1985, to Lois (nee Wideman) and Claude Maillet. He was a loving husband to Shawna and caring stepfather to Shayla Campbell. He will be missed greatly by his brother Nicholas (Kristin), his sister Bianca, his stepfather Ron Lynn, and stepsiblings Jennifer Horne (Chris), Janette Lynn, and Richard Lynn (Stephanie) and families. His loss is felt by many but especially his grandmothers Ivy Wideman and Anise Maillet (Tim) along with his parents in-law Mike and Cathy Terrick. He is predeceased by his grandfathers Ross Wideman and Sam Maillet, and his brother-in-law Jesse Terrick.

Jesse devoted his life to the betterment of his family and took great pride in his profession. The old adage that if you “find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never have to work a day in your life” could not have been more applicable to the days spent working with his uncles Danny and Marcel Maillet and cousin Derek Richard. Their tutelage allowed him to ultimately succeed as an entrepreneur of his own drywall business. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed spending time with family, reading, and watching history documentaries. Jesse was always very active; from playing hockey, skateboarding, and baseball as a youth to playing basketball and golfing as a young adult. As a young boy he was always found swimming and building forts and he continued this love of the outdoors into adulthood through camping and ice fishing.

Jesse was a soft-hearted, intelligent young man who will be profoundly missed by all who loved him. He will forever be remembered as a sensitive soul who would do anything for his friends and family.

The funeral will be held on August 7 2022 at the EastRidge Church at 12485 Tenth Line, Stouffville L4A3E9 with the visitation at 3:00 pm and the service will commence at 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests charitable donations to be made in Jesse’s name to the Hope for Today Fellowship https://www.hopefortoday.ca/giving-to-this-work/ or the Georgina Food Pantry https://georginafoodpantry.com/donate-funds.
