Jeremiah Hamilton

June 5, 1928 -  January 27, 2020

It is with great sadness that we share with you the passing of our beloved Jeremiah Hamilton, also known as "Bongo Jerry" or "Mass Jerry". He was born in St Catherine, Jamaica on the 5th of June 1928. He passed away quietly at the Bridge Point Hospital on Monday January 27th 2020 at the age of 91.

Mass Jerry was well loved and adored by members of the Sandy Ground community and surrounding areas. He was an active member of the Mizpah Baptist Church at Sandy Ground and a dedicated member of the church choir for many years. He was always supportive to members of the community who lost loved ones. He moved to Canada in 2002 along with his wife, Alva to live with family members.
Bongo Jerry became a member of the Northminster Baptist church where he worshiped with the congregation through the duration of his active life. He was a caring, loving, compassionate, humorous, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, cousin and friend who dedicated his life to the Lord, his family his church and to others. He will be greatly missed by all.
Jeremiah is survived by Alva, his loving wife of 50 years. Daughters, Yvette (Dimple), Valereta (Valerie) and husband Frank, Minetta (TinTin,Sonia) and husband Paul, Yvonne (Mervis). Sons, Hasburn (Hervin) and wife Yvonne, Leroy (Clifton) and wife Patsy, and Martin (Danny) . 18 Grandchildren, and 31 Great-grand children, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at the York Funeral Centre (160 Beecroft Road, Toronto, 416-221-3404). Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM followed by a Service of Celebration of his life.
Jeremiah Hamilton will be laid to rest at the family plot at Sandy Ground, Jamaica, West Indies.
Friends are invited for a reception after the service at the Funeral Centre.

Papa you will be missed by many. You were respected and loved by your family and many who knew you. I will miss you. I use to have to ask mom. What grandpa said, because he talk so fast I couldn't understand him sometimes. I use to think it was so funny we from the same island but I still at times could not understand one word. I know you in heaven and I know I will see you again. Until we meet again. Love you papa.
