In memory of

Jeffrey Christopher Erickson

May 21, 1967 -  April 29, 2024

Jeffrey (Jeff) Christopher Erickson suddenly passed away April 29, 2024. He was born in Blind River, Ontario May 21, 1967 to Claire (Ranger) and Howard Erickson. He was raised in Pickering, Ontario, later living in Ottawa, Ontario and Oshawa, Ontario. Jefferey loved to play sports, especially hockey and was a fierce competitor. He also enjoyed fishing, cooking, helping friends and family with their household projects. He looked forward to annual trips to Abitibi Canyon, Thunder Bay and Kincardine to visit extended family. An energetic youth who loved to socialize and entertain people during his travels later in life. Given the nickname “Birdman” by his father, due to the fact he was always escaping from his bedroom while being disciplined. Jeff’s claim to fame was marching with the late Harvey Kirk (CTV news anchor) in Clan Parade event at the Scottish Festival in Kincardine, Ontario.
He was a hard worker and always a guy you could call if you needed a hand. He worked as an insulator, landscaper then moving on to construction (barn/building restoration). Jeff is predeceased by his father Howard and stepmother Joan Baird. He is survived by the love of his life daughter Melissa, mother Claire, brothers Derek (Krissy Whitehead), Kevin, Kyle (Neila), step brothers Graeme (Rhondi), Cameron (Kim) and step-sisters Louise (Rory McCormick) and Jeanette (David Robertson). He is also survived by uncles Wayne Sullivan (Kim), Henry Ranger, aunts Arlene Gagnon, Lorraine Hovi (Irene), Ingrid Siciliano, several nieces and cousins. He will be dearly missed RIP Jeff!! Respecting his family’s wishes there will not be a funeral. Immediate family will gather for a private celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) or Forests Ontario.

Very sad to hear of “The Birdman’s” passing. Although it has been awhile since I seen Jeff my memories of him are fond and many. He was a true character who loved life. RIP Jeff.

I'm truly sorry to hear about Jeff. But I always remember my first night babysitting the four of you. Kyle was no more then 2 or 3 and couldn't speck English that well. Kevin the translator and Jeff the Birdman. Well settling in for the evening Kyle is trying his best to tell me Jeff is on the roof. Thank you Kevin for translating. I proceeded to attempt on getting Jeff down to no avail. Called my mother who was also shocked and not sure what to do. Derrick came home from the hockey game and got Jeff down. Thanks Derrick. That evening will always bring a smile to my face

Love
Karen
