In memory of

Jean Margaret Ashbridge

July 5, 1932 -  March 1, 2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jean Ashbridge, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Jean passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on March 1, 2025, at the age of 92.

Jean was a native of Scotland, known for her vibrant spirit, feisty nature, and warmth that touched everyone who knew her. She dedicated over 40 years of her life to Scotiabank, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication. Outside of her professional life, Jean was a cherished and a loyal customer of the salon every Friday, where her laughter and kindness were always a highlight of the week.

Jean is now reunited with her beloved husband, Charlie, and daughter Elaine. She will be deeply missed by her granddaughter Shauna, grandson Iain, great-granddaughter Laylah, and son-in-law David. Her presence in our lives will always be remembered, and her love will continue to guide us.

Jean’s memory will live on in our hearts, forever loved NEVER Forgotten.

Sadly we say goodbye to my mother in law Jean. I first met Jean & Charlie when I flew out from Calgary in March 1980 to be introduced as Elaine's fiance. This started a wonderful and respectful relationship that did at times have its ups and downs. The last few years saw a rapid decline with the death of her beloved Charlie and Elaine passing away two years ago this month. A caring gentle yet strong lady with a solid work ethic Jean carried her set of values across all aspects of her life. I will miss her very much.

We are so sorry to hear of Jean’s passing. We have many wonderful memories of time spent with Jean, Charlie and Elaine. May her memory be a blessing.

My condolences to you David, Shauna, Iain and Laylah for the loss of Jean, who you supported so faithfully and lovingly.
I was grateful to have shared a room for a few weeks with Jean at Providence Hospital and that we became friends. She was 90+ with a vibrant flair for elegance, determined mind and adventurous spirit. I met many lovely people while at Providence but Jean was the most endearing of them all. I hope there is a dance floor in heaven, for - if there is - Jean will most surely be on it, with her Scottish sweetheart and husband Charlie, and the belle of the ball!

You were a very special lady aunt Jean. You enriched all our lives with your unconditional love & wisdom. Throughout your life, you demonstrated that being an aunt wasn't merely about family obligation - rather it was about creating a bond that bridged generations. You could light up a room with your smile and energy!
I remember going to the mall with you and you knew everyone in those shops by name. I also remember you hiding your buys so uncle Charlie didn't see what you bought . I was sworn to secrecy!
I'm so glad you got to come home to Scotland in recent years. Those memories we will treasure!

You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. Your love, your laughter, and your spirit will forever be a part of us. Our collective hearts are heavy with sympathy. Rest in peace.
