It was with great sorrow that we received the news of the passing of our beloved friend Jean (Jelena)!
Jean was a beautiful person inside and out.
We know that she suffered a lot due to her serious illness in recent times. However, she endured all of it with great dignity.
We never heard her complaining about the unbearable and excruciating pain, and we never heard her whining: "Why me?".
Even in her last few days on earth, and despite all the pain and discomfort, she was asking about our daughter’s well-being!
We were blessed to know her and her husband Brian over the years.
We will always remember Jean for her pleasant personality, her kindness and lovely smile.
We hold dear memories of her pious participation in the Divine Liturgy, and of the attention she exercised when partaking of the Holy Communion during the church services.
She loved celebrating the Orthodox Easter and we always enjoyed the special, naturally dyed Pascha eggs, and the delicious festive buns that she and Brian distributed to friends every year.
It was always a joy to spend some time over coffee with Jean and Brian, following the services at the church.
These were just a few of the significant traits that highlighted her beautiful personality.
We believe that she made an impact on many lives. Her departure has surely left a deep wound that is gravely felt by all the people who knew her.
However, the memories we shared with her provide comfort in our journey through this great loss.
She will be forever missed. Until we meet again.
May our Lord's profound love rest Jean's soul with His Saints and bring her husband Brian comfort, consolation, and perfect peace at this difficult time and in all the days ahead!

I have worked closely with Jean at Lynde Dermatology for several years. It has been a true pleasure to have known her. Jean was always so helpful processing and dealing with all the research financial issues I needed . You have been missed all these weeks since you became unwell and I will miss seeing your smiling face sitting in the chair next to me. Rest easy my friend. You have earned your angel wings.
My memory of Jean is a wonderfully sweet and graceful women. She had a warm and inviting smile and laugh. I feel privileged to have known her. My heart goes out to those she has left behind.
