In memory of

Jean Grace

December 18, 1948 -  August 7, 2024

With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Peggy Jean Grace, affectionately known as Jean, at the age of 75. Surrounded by her loving family, Jean passed away on August 7, 2024. She was a devoted and loving life partner to Faron, a cherished mother to James, and a proud grandmother to Ethan and Marcus.

Jean was born in Orillia to her beloved late parents, Harold and Gladys Buchanan. From a young age, she dedicated herself to caring for her family, embodying the roles of a loving partner, mother, and grandmother with unwavering devotion. Her commitment to her family was evident throughout her life, as she consistently placed their well-being above all else—a testament to her enduring love.

Jean was deeply cherished by her family and friends, whose lives were enriched by her genuine affection and kindness. Her infectious smile and unmatched compassion brought joy to many. Jean found happiness in life’s moments, especially those shared with her partner, Faron; her son, James; daughter-in-law, Stella; and grandchildren, Ethan and Marcus.

She was the beloved sister of Lorna (late John) McFadden and Dale (Ariel) Buchanan. Sister to the late Eric (Clarine) Buchanan, Irene (late Pete) White, Lloyd Buchanan, Arkle (Sherree) Buchanan, and Rosemarie Buchanan. Jean will also be fondly remembered and dearly missed by her partner’s sister, Zena Chambers, as well as by Connie (late Ambrose) Chiu, along with many extended family members, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Despite facing health challenges throughout her life, Jean maintained a cheerful outlook and was known for her long phone conversations and unwavering support for those in need. Her presence will be deeply missed, and those who knew her will never be the same without her.

Jean, may you rest in eternal peace. We will miss you dearly and hold you forever in our hearts, cherishing the memories we were fortunate to share with you.

Jean, you were the best neighbour ever - always blessing our children with scholastic books, coming over for backyard summer birthday BBQ’s and chatting over the fence. Carrie and James, who were the little ring bearer and flower girl for Jamie and Stella are grown up and married themselves now, but still remember “auntie Jean and uncle Faron”.
We will remember your great laugh, your generosity and your great Christmas lawn decorations 😉
We love you Jean - you will be greatly missed

I met Jean at work when I started working at Scholastic in the trade-education department. She was amazing lady always with a smile on her face. We used to have lunch with all the gang and I watched her and the other ladies play cards in the cafeteria, lots of laughs lots of memories. I am so glad I got to go for Breakfast last August with friend Cathy Lane. She will be missed. Rest in Peach Jean, until we meet again.
