Jean Elsa Mendez (nee-Wilson) was born in Big Bridge, Westmoreland, Jamaica on June 1st, 1942 and was born to the late Nellie Mattison and Stanley Wilson.
She is the eldest of five. She leaves behind her sisters Ena Young, (and predeceased by her late brother Hopeton Brooks), Vilma Booker, and Rosemarie Stewart. Her brother in-laws Tony Young, James Booker, and Cornelius Stewart and sister-in-law Evadne Brooks.
Her children Lloyd Mendez, Rosemarie Mendez and Nadine Hindmarsh, daughter-in-law Shannon, and son-in-law Trevor. Her 7 grandchildren (Andrew, Jeleil, Noah, Elgyn, Nehemiah, Elisha and Aaliyah), and 2 great grandchildren Zuryiah and Jeidyn.

She will always be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. We will always remember her laugh and the joy she brought to others.
