In memory of

Janine Helen Rivard

December 22, 1954 -  August 20, 2023

Janine (Wallace) Rivard was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. She left this world peacefully in her sleep on August 20, 2023, at age 68.

She was born in London, England to Andy and Freda Wallace on December 22, 1954. Janine married her best friend, Bob Rivard, in September 1990. Together they had 2 beautiful children: Genevieve and Vanessa (pre-deceased). In 2010, Janine welcomed her first grandchild, Avalon, whom she cherished and loved with all her heart.

Janine loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious foods for everyone to try. Janine enjoyed vacationing in warmer climates with her husband. Janine also greatly enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter and building memories with her. Janine loved children, especially her nieces and nephews, Caeden, Sophie, and Luke, and treasured showering them with affection and gifts.

She worked in the condominium business for nearly 40 years as an exceptional property manager. She was an industrious worker and took pride in doing an outstanding job for her properties and built strong friendships with other members of the field, contractors, and homeowners.

Janine will be deeply missed by her husband, Bob, sister, Lorraine (Dave), daughter Genevieve (Bryan), granddaughter, Avalon, her bonus son Dan, and all her extended family and friends. The family would like to imagine that she is peacefully in the heavens with her parents, Andy and Freda, her Aunt Isa, and her daughter, Vanessa.

The family would like to thank all the medical staff at Northumberland Hills Hospital for the exceptional care they provided to Janine and would like to thank the aftercare she received from LHIN and Cancer Care for her home support.

A celebration of life is scheduled from 1-4 p.m. on September 10, 2023, at The Simple Alternative at 1057 Brock Road in Pickering. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Northumberland Hills Hospital.

Janine was a wonderful sister in law and later we kept in touch periodically. She was warm, caring and loved her people ferociously. I will miss knowing she is not reachable but will remember her in my heart. My deepest condolences go to bob, Genvieve, Avalon and her entire family.
