Rest in peace with your loved ones, Mrs.Witkowski. Life wasn't always kind to you, but you handled it all with strength, courage, and honour. You were always so kind to me, and for that I thank you.

Nina Witkowski's Ushka and Senik—Loving Spoonfuls (Season 2, Episode 5)

Our family sincerely treasures the experience and memories of our Granny's appearance on the show Loving Spoonfuls and wish to extend our gratitude once again, to everyone that made that event happen for her. Our family received so much positive feedback about her episode and the show in general, and plan to display some memorabilia from the show at her service. You can watch her on Loving Spoonfuls (Season 2, Episode 5) on (Amazon) Prime Video.

Eat, Eat, Eat

Growing up with a hungry belly, little food types or quantity no doubt was part of why Granny loved stuffing us on family occasions. We feasted on appetizers the size of main courses, followed by a table full of dishes, and an array of desserts. After which, she'd make ham sandwiches on delicious fresh European rye bread. When I remember her saying "Eat, Eat, Eat," I think of those sandwiches the most.

Wendy

On one of our visits, I remember asking Granny about her doll—Granny displayed a large doll prominently in her living room. She told me that when she was a little girl in Poland, she had never owned a doll, or really any toys at all—that they were too poor. She said that when she was an adult and living in Canada, her doll—that she named Wendy—was the first thing she bought when she had money to spare. I have so many memories of visits—of Wendy being dressed and decorated in some new way.

The Richest Soil in Scarborough

In the Spring, the entire perimeter of Granny's yard would be seeded with forget-me-nots, then uprooted—the seeds saved for next year—and planted with begonias for summer—which she would take cuttings from and mass cultivate through the winter—then repeat the process again in the Spring. Endless planting, growing and beautifying her landscape. She was so happy gardening. I’d wager a guess she probably had the richest soil in Scarborough.
