Donna,

I am so very sorry to hear about the passing of your Mom. I remember her as always being cheerful and bubbly. It was a blessing to have seen her just before Christmas.

My deepest sympathy is extended to you, Ed - and the rest of your family.

May the wonderful memories you have from the time you had together bring you solace.

Love and hugs,
Anita

Janice and I have been friends for over 40 years. It’s a special friendship because I’m grateful to call her daughter Donna, my best friend. Over the years we’ve shared many milestones, growing up ourselves and then becoming parents with kids. Janice was a part of it all. We had many fun adventures together. From tubing on Lake Timiskaming, to showers and weddings, to cheering on “Eddie, Eddie” in the Smash-up Derby, to sips and sunsets on 7 Mile beach. It’s a gift when your best friends’ mom becomes a dear friend to you.

When she turned 80, we started an annual tradition; Janice, Donna, Helen and I celebrated with a night on the town and hotel getaway. This December was no different. Only a few weeks ago, we went to the “One of a Kind” show. Janice was in her element, enjoying the artists’ work and picking out unique gifts for the people she loved. She ensured we visited every aisle in the entire show! It was a frigid, blustery evening by the time we went for a bite and drink at the top of Hotel X. Always up for excitement, she didn’t hesitate to get out into the wild winds to take photos of the colourful city lights.

Janice had a wonderful spirit. Creative, charming, funny and elegant at the same time. We are so grateful to have had her in our lives. She was the best mom, mother-in-law, Nan, sister and friend a person could wish for - our hearts go out to her family, friends and the furry ones too. She truly was one of a kind.
