In memory of

Janet Shuet-Ching Wong

September 22, 1941 -  October 15, 2022

We sorrowfully announce the passing of Janet Shuet-Ching Wong (黃雪貞) on October 15, 2022, peacefully at The Dorothy Ley Hospice. She was surrounded by her husband of 54 years, Robert Chun Chung Wong, and daughters Angela Chan (Robert) and Bonnie Foley-Wong (Colm). Janet is also survived by five grandchildren, Marisa, Evan, Brian, Esme, and Cerys, who loved their “Poh- Poh” very much.
Janet overcame struggles and challenges throughout her life, taking big leaps with an open heart and open mind, and always putting others’ needs ahead of her own. She was the consummate caregiver in our family. She bravely navigated kidney disease in the final two years of life, with so much strength, and, true to character, thought about others despite her own health challenges.
We would like to thank Dr. Kiran Kundhal, primary nurse, Angela, and the care team at the Renal Care Centre at Trillium Health Partners. We would also like to thank Dr. Nadia Salvo, the nursing team, care team, and staff at The Dorothy Ley Hospice, for their support during the last several weeks.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a visitation on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at York Funeral Centre, 160 Beecroft Road, North York, Ontario from 1:15 pm to 2:00 pm to remember Janet. The visitation will be followed by a celebration of life at 2:00 pm.
In memory of Janet and in lieu of flowers, donations to The Dorothy Ley Hospice and Credit Valley Hospital, Trillium Health Partners, are welcomed. Sympathy flowers may be purchased through Alyssa Flower's - 416-609-9202, or through a provider of choice.

We are really saddened by the news of "yee yee" passing. As we've grown over the years, we think back at the times growing up and the moments we've shared at our house, in Etobicoke, at dim sum, at our wedding and other events. It's a lifetime of positive memories. Everyone loved her, she was always encouraging. She was warm and caring. Thinking of Auntie Janet, we immediately see her beautiful smile, she will be missed but we will remember her with all our memories and with the family she leaves behind.
