Janet Alexa Deklavs

April 12, 1951 - March 30, 2025

Surrounded by the love of her family, Janet passed peacefully on March 30, 2025, at Ajax-Pickering hospital at the age of 74. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Andy and their children Amanda and Christopher and beloved grandchildren, Travis and River.

A memorial service will be held on April 12, 2025, at The Simple Alternative Funeral Centre in Pickering (1057 Brock Road, Pickering). Visitation from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm, with service to follow at 12:00 pm. The family requests no flowers please and if desired, all donations to Diabetes Canada.

Oh my dear friend and “cuz” I cannot believe you are gone. You were supposed to be coming down here to Barbados. It is so surreal. Seeing you in November over such a long lunch and such plans. Life is just so unpredictable and cruel!!! Andy, Chris and Janet my heart hurts for you all. And her precious River and Travis. She was so proud of you both and never stopped talking about you. I am sorry I am not there to say goodbye but rest in peace my cuz. I will miss you terribly. Diana. xoxo

So shocked that Janet is gone and went so fast. I've known Janet for over 64 years, my whole life. I won't ever forget the kindness of Janet and Andy when they took my brother and I into their home when my father passed away almost 48 years ago. We have so many fond memories of so many good times with Ted. Jessie, Janet and Linda and their families - Lake Simcoe, Bunny Hollo, Higgin's Island...
