In memory of

James Michael Roth

June 24, 1969 -  April 28, 2020

Beloved father of Reuben, husband of Susannah, son of Kenneth and Belinda, brother of Robert and uncle of Katherine and Allison. Passed after a short illness.

Jamie (James to you) had a strong love of family. He was an avid reader and had a passion for writing. He was a great communicator and had a broad range of knowledge.

If you engaged Jamie in a conversation, he was only too happy to expand on what you had to say and debate with you if he was trying to make a point. Of course, he assumed that you would come round to his way of thinking. He was never at a loss for words.

We will forever miss his smile and outgoing nature.

Such a friendly smiling face, and a terrible loss of a young person. Our thoughts are with the family during this difficult time.

Here's to life James
My eyes already touch the sunny hill.
going far ahead of the road I have begun.
So we are grasped by what we cannot grasp;
it has inner light, even from a distance-

and charges us, even if we do not reach it,
into something else, which, hardly sensing it,
we already are; a gesture waves us on
answering our own wave...
but what we feel is the wind in our faces.
Here's to life, here's to love, here's to you

James was the brightest light at Manor Road. His energy and talents were a blessing, and his unfiltered honesty helped things moving. It was a joy working with him. He will be greatly missed. I'm sure he and Jeff Laing (and all who passed) are having a joyful reunion.

Sending our condolences to Susannah and Rueben and extended family. We were friends from Manor Road United Church. One of my favorite memories is of playing backgammon with James on a snowy Friday night on one of the games night. I loved his enthusiasm and spirit as we read the rules and remembered how to play the game. He will be missed and live on in our shared memories. Rest in peace, James from Carol and Derek
