In memory of

James Douglas Hay

January 10, 1949 -  October 1, 2019

With heavy hearts, the family of James Hay announce his passing on Tuesday October 1, 2019 at the Toronto General Hospital. Jim was born on January 10, 1949 and was the eldest son of Douglas and Gwendolyn Hay (nee Johnston). He will be remembered most as a jovial, kind and compassionate person and will be deeply missed. Jim was predeceased by his parents and his sister Susan. He is survived by his sister Lorraine Webb; brother's Alan (Diane), Ian and Richard (Deborah); and his many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Visitation will be held at the Simple Alternative Funeral Centre, 1535 South Gateway Road in Mississauga on October 20th from 1 to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to South Riverdale Community Health Centre.

Hi Alan
It's been a long time. We were very sorry to read about Jim. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time. Hope everything else is fine with you. Your girls must be all grown up by now. We still think of the times they were little and came to visit us.
Our sincere condolences, Armand and Maria.

I worked with Jim for many years at South Riverdale Community Health Centre. Jim was the friendly voice and face of the organization. He was kind, warm, and always went above and beyond to help a client or a colleague. Jim was not afraid to voice his opinion, even if his ideas varied from the majority. We took the bus home from work together on many occasions. He spoke so fondly of his family, including his many nieces and nephews. A smile always on his face as he described visits or outings with them. I will remember Jim fondly. He was a gentle soul whose kindness will not be forgotten. May his memory be a blessing.

It’s been more than 12 years since I worked with Jim at SRCHC, but I will always remember his warm smile, kind and generous spirit. Condolences to the family and all who were lucky enough to have met him.
