In Loving Memory - Remembering James Chin Yu Wong

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Chin Yu Wong, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. James departed this life peacefully on December 30th, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family, at the age of 86.

Born on December 2, 1938, in Hong Kong. James lived a life that exemplified kindness, resilience, and dedication. He was a cherished son. His parents had instilled in him the values of hard work and compassion. James carried these values throughout his life, touching the hearts of all who knew him.

James’ journey was one of remarkable achievements and unwavering love for his family. He was a devoted husband to Agatha with whom he shared 56 years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and mutual respect. Together, they created a home filled with warmth and joy, raising two children, Kayman & Tracey who were his pride and joy.

James built a successful career as electrical engineer where his dedication and integrity earned him the respect of his colleagues and community. Beyond his professional accomplishments, James had a passion for gathering with friends and family filled with food and laughter, which brought him immense joy and allowed him to forge lasting friendships.

As a grandfather, James’ heart expanded even further, delighting in the lives of his grandchildren, Kace, Alex & Spencer, and imparting his wisdom and love to the next generation. His stories, guidance, and unwavering support will be forever cherished.

James’ legacy extends beyond his immediate family, as he was a pillar of his community, known for his generosity, wit and compassion. Whether it was getting together with friends or simply offering a kind word, James’ presence brought light to those around him.

Though our hearts ache with his passing, we are comforted by the countless memories of his smile, his laughter, and the love he so freely gave. James will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His spirit lives on in the lives he touched and the legacy he leaves behind.

A memorial honoring James’ life will be held on January 4th, 2025 at Blessed Trinity Church beginning at 10am. Family and friends are invited to join us in honoring his memory.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to The Parkinson Foundation and/or Sunnybrook Schulich Heart Center, a cause close to James’ heart.

Rest in peace, James Chin Yu Wong. Your life was a blessing, and your memory will be a treasure forever in our hearts.
