James (Jim) Boyd passed away at Scarborough General Hospital on December 22nd, 2018, at the age of 91. Jim was predeceased by his loving wife Sally.
Jim is survived by his adoring wife, Connie, his son Jimmy (Ruth deceased), daughters Laura (Randy), Marnee (Mario), Barbara (Roy) and Jenny (Dale). Proud Grampa to grandchildren Harrison, Sara, Jessica, Jacob, Russell, Rebecca and Riley. He is also survived by his sister Maureen and sister-in-laws Teresa Boyd and Jackie Boyd and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Matthew and Marion Boyd, brothers Matt, Bill and Robert, sister in law Nancy and brother in law Ross.

Jim was born in Northern Belfast, Ireland on February 27th, 1927 and married his wife Sally in 1953. In search of a better life he and his brother, Matt came to Canada. Settling in Toronto, he later brought Sally over having five children and 47 years together in marriage.

In Toronto, Jim worked for Donlands Dairy and later in life the Ontario Provincial Courts. Jim loved his family, spending time with his wife, kids and grandchildren and particularly enjoyed annual family vacations.
The family wishes to sincerely thank the wonderful caregivers at Scarborough General and Scarborough Grace Hospitals for the past ten weeks. We also wish to thank our friends and Reverend Dr. Paul Hutchinson of Eglinton St. George’s United Church.

Visitation will take place at the Pine Hills Cemetery, 625 Birchmount Road, Scarborough on Thursday December 27th from 5pm-7:00 pm, and Friday December 28th 1:00pm to 2:00pm followed by a Celebration of Life service at 2:00pm. A reception will be held immediately following the service at the same location.
