In memory of

James Bodi

June 14, 1939 -  June 14, 2023

James Anthony Bodi passed away on June 14, 2023 in his 84th year. He is survived by his beloved partner Lynn Gibson, his children Jason, Jennifer and James; and his siblings Diane and Stephen. He was pre-deceased by his father George, mother Katherine, step-mother Anne and elder brother Victor.

Jim was a small businessman throughout his life, owning plating shops, metal manufacturing businesses and lately Barrett Technical, a specialty paint-shop, which he continued to take care of right up to his death. He enjoyed judo, hockey, squash and tennis in his younger years as well as travel when he could find time.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to his favourite charities: The Nature Conservancy of Canada, Beyond Bride Rescue Foundation or Home on the Hill Supportive Housing

A memorial service will be held Tuesday June 20th at 1535 South Gateway Road Mississauga, from 11 AM to 1 PM. Following this will be a reception at the Vue at the Royal Woodbine, 195 Galaxy Boulevard, Toronto.

Oh Jim Bodi... what a funny and dear man. We met a long while ago and I was lucky enough to travel with him on safari. He was kind, grateful and generous always helping. Jim served on the board that rescues young Kenyan girls from early forced marriage - he was adamant that they have a better life and he changed many. We will be forever grateful for his time and care. Will miss my pal but know there is a star burning just a little brighter in the sky now.

My sincere condolences.

To say that he was an unique individual doesn't even scratch the surface. I will continue to smile every time I think of him.

Rest in peace Buddy

My Deepest condolences.

Jim was our tennis buddy (3 women and Jim) going back 30 years starting from the old Skyline Club and then on to the Royal Woodbine club and to Eglington Flats and finally Pine Point. We had a lot of laughs together, and will be deeply missed at our Sunday morning coffee meets.

Love - Anna.
