In memory of

James Andrew Lemont

May 22, 1967 -  June 12, 2020

James Andrew Lemont, 53, was welcomed home with the words well done my good and faithful servant on June 12, 2020. He was born on May 22, 1967 in Toronto, ON. For the short time that he was with us James served his Lord and Saviour by encouraging all around him and serving everyone with songs and many talents.
James is survived by his mother Larysa, twin brother Timothy, older brother George, and many close relatives. He is preceded by the passing of his grandparents, father Lloyd, and his brother William. We look forward to being reunited through Christ.
Visitation and funeral arrangements will be held at Meadowvale Cemetery and Funeral Centre, Brampton, ON, on Friday, June 19, 2020.

Our prayers and thoughts are with you at this time with the passing of your son and brother. Many precious memories of your family coming to visit the Kelso's up at Port Elgin, on the way to your cottage at Gould Lake...all packed into that, " little car".

We trust that the Lord will give you peace & comfort in the coming days ahead.

My twin brother Jim

to me

From the time of Jim's conversion at the age of 25, he sought to honor God and obey His word. Jim was gifted. He was a skillful artist that could render the likeness of a person or a farmhouse setting with a mastery that few have. When Jim and I renovated the basement, I would often initiate the work but when it came down to the fine details, he was the master craftsman. He built the recess structure and frames of our basement windows with amazing precision.

Jim's number one goal in life was to honor and glorify the Lord Jesus Christ. He wanted to be just like John the Baptist. He even bought crickets to eat, and honey, and wore a leather belt, like John the Baptist.

I am convinced that Jim's life was very much like Job's.

The LORD Himself thought very highly of Job. In Job chapter 2:3-6 we read:

Job 2:3-6
New International Version
3 Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil. And he still maintains his integrity, though you incited me against him to ruin him without any reason.”

4 “Skin for skin!” Satan replied. “A man will give all he has for his own life. 5 But now stretch out your hand and strike his flesh and bones, and he will surely curse you to your face.”

6 The Lord said to Satan, “Very well, then, he is in your hands; but you must spare his life.

But then a great testing was about to begin. Satan was determined to prove that if Job was put to the test and suffered enough, that he would curse God.

When Job lost his family, he fell to the ground and worshiped, saying,

"Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked shall I return there. The Lord gave, and the LORD has taken away; Blessed be the name of the LORD."
Job 1:21

Job gave glory to God. When the devil did his worst to Job, he praised the LORD. And so did Jim. For most of his life, Jim has known suffering that very few of us know. Decades of torment, and fear, and testing, that only ended in the evening of June the 12, 2020.

The Devil did his worst to Jim, right to the very end. But Jim only gave the LORD glory. His sole purpose was to worship the Lord and to share the gospel that we all need to repent of our sin and believe on the LORD Jesus Christ for salvation.

Several years ago, Jim shared with me that he prayed to the LORD that God would use him to get the Devil more angry than any other person on earth.

I think that God answered Jim's prayer. Because Satan threw his very worst at Jim. Causing Jim to suffer terrors unthinkable right up to the point of his death.

But Jim gave the LORD glory. And now that his days of suffering are finally over, he is with Jesus.

And I know that the LORD Jesus Christ is saying to Jim right now,
Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’
Matthew 25:21

Knowing that Jim's suffering is over. Knowing that Jim is in glory. And knowing that we will be with him soon, proves that it is well with our souls.
