It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of James Aliyianis, age 61, on September 5, 2026.

Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Jim later made his home in Richmond Hill where he raised his family. Above all else, Jim was a family man through and through. He was supportive, generous, caring, and always there when someone needed him. He had an incredible sense of humour and a gift for making people laugh, especially during the moments when laughter was needed most. Even in difficult times, Jim was often the one cracking a joke and bringing a smile to everyone around him. He was always a phone call away in a time of need, and would do anything in his power to help.

At the centre of Jim's world was his beautiful wife, Stefanie. There was no one he loved more. Together they built a life and family that meant everything to him.

Jim was a loving and devoted father to Johnny, Mary, and Theodore, and a proud Papou to his two beautiful grandchildren. Being a Papou brought him immense joy, and he loved nothing more than making his grandbabies laugh and smile.

Jim is also survived by his beloved younger brother, Peter. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Maria, whose memory remained an important part of his life.

Jim will be remembered for his enormous love for his family, his unwavering support, his caring nature, and, perhaps most of all, the laughter he brought into the lives of the people who loved him. His absence leaves a space that can never be filled, but his family will carry his love, his humour, and a lifetime of memories with them always.

He was deeply loved as a husband, Dad, Papou, brother, and friend, and he will be missed beyond words.
