In memory of

James Alexander Holker

March 10, 1944 -  July 21, 2024

James "Jim" passed away on July 21 at St. Michael's Hospital, surrounded by loved ones.

Jim is survived by his cherished wife, Kathleen (Kay), and their sons: Noel (Austin), Michael, Brendan, and Graham. He will be interred with his late sister, Marjorie, next to his parents, James (Sr.) and Ellen.

Jim was a devoted and committed husband, always ready with a story or a joke. His infectious laughter will be sorely missed. As a proud veteran of the Metropolitan Toronto Police Force, Jim served for 34 years, achieving the rank of Sergeant and proudly bearing Badge #3016. Growing up in 13 Division, he went on to spend most of his career there, where he was known as the hockey coach for the 'B' team. He also served at 14 Division for a decade.

Jim's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated teams at NYGH and SMH, particularly the MSICU team on the 4th floor of Peter Gilgan, for their compassionate care.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 8th, from 4:30 to 7:30 PM at York Cemetery Funeral Centre (160 Beecroft Rd). The interment will follow at 11 AM on August 9th, with a celebration of life from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Interment location: https://maps.app.goo.gl/RFYVmBUUhDqguAha7 - it is inside the grey roundabout to the east of the building (right on map). You can exit the building on that side through the office or walk around.

In lieu of flowers, Jim and his family request that charitable donations be made to cancer, Alzheimer's, or a charity of your choice.
