FERRIS, James Albert “Jim”

It is with deep sadness and much love that we announce the passing of James Albert Ferris, of Whitby, Ontario. Jim passed away peacefully on the 17th of September 2023, at the age of 80, surrounded by family. Jim was born on the 17th of October 1942 to James and Teresa Ferris in Toronto, Ontario. A big kid at heart, Jim was the life of the party. With siblings Lucille and Robert (Bob), Jim enjoyed times that involved celebrating with family and friends. His sense of humour was second to none and he was always up for a good prank. Cherishing his role as ‘Gramps’, Jim doted on all his grandchildren and left a lasting impression on all of them. Gramps’ legacy will forever live on through his beloved grandchildren. Jim was predeceased by the love of his life Debbie O’Halloran and will now get to join her for eternity. Jim is survived by daughter Stacy, sons Jason and Andre, daughter in-laws Jennifer and Monique, grandchildren Jordyn, Amanda, Jaime, Jeremy, Jacob, Zachary, Abby, and Jace, and of course, his loyal sidekick Buddy. A Celebration of Life will be held at THORNTON CEMETERY & FUNERAL CENTRE, 1200 Thornton Road North, Oshawa, (South of Taunton Road and off of Dryden Blvd, 905-579-6787) on Monday, September 25, 2023. Drop in anytime between 6:00pm and 8:00pm. For those of you who wish to have one last drink for Jim, we will be at Whisky John’s Bar & Grill, 843 King St. Unit 7 Oshawa, ON. L1J 2L4 shortly after 8:00pm. Please come dressed casually as Jim would have wanted that. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Salvation Army in Jim’s honour, an organization with strong family history.
