In memory of

Jakob Heitzmann

April 2, 1925 -  September 17, 2017

Our father, our Ota Jack, died in his sleep on Sunday at the Scarborough General Hospital. Born in Tscheb, Yugoslavia, he brought his family to Canada in 1954. Here he labored to build a new life and a future for his family, first in the garment industry and later as a caretaker for the Scarborough Board of Education. After retirement he devoted himself to caring for his wife Eva, who was stricken with Alzheimer’s. He leaves behind his daughter Anna, her husband Frank and his treasured grandchildren Susanne (Brian) and Peter (Sheila), and four wonderful great-grandchildren: Katie, Alex, Oliver and Eva.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you Anna and your family during this time. We have enjoyed your stories about your father. Now that he has passed from this life he remains in the stories and the memories of all those who have heard them.

Sending my condolences to you and your family Anna. Sorry not to be at the service due to volunteering at the Invictus Games but you'll be in my thoughts.

So sorry to hear. Even when one knows that it is coming, it is always difficult when it becomes a reality. Your grandchildren will know him through your memories and stories.
