In memory of

Jainti Valji Karsan Patel

December 14, 1946 -  December 21, 2020

A loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Father-in-law, Brother, Uncle and Friend who passed away peacefully in his home in Brantford, Ontario on December 21, 2020. He celebrated his 74th birthday on December 14, 2020.

He was born in Nairobi, Kenya in 1946. He studied Mechanical Engineering in Calcutta (Kolkata) and Pune, India. He immigrated to Canada in April, 1988 and acquired his Professional Engineer designation; and worked in various manufacturing industries including food and automotive to name a few.

He loved to watch re-runs of the Bourne Identity series and the Fast and Furious, adored Celine Dion and enjoyed watching tennis, the Young and the Restless, How it’s Made, Motor Trend, following the world news and shows with his granddaughter Aryella like Peppa Pig, Ryan's World and The Astronauts – but most of all, he enjoyed spoiling Aryella with love.

He loved trying new foods, travelling, capturing pictures of places he visited (some are on the photo section of the site) as photography was his passion. Being a problem solver with a “mechanical brain” he loved trouble shooting automotive errors and fixing things around the house. He loved Tandoori chicken, Butter chicken, Indian sweets like Kalakand, Monthar, Gulab Jamun and his favorite cake was Black Forest.

To Aryella, he was known as Paieid, to us he was known as Dad, Papa or Jain.

He is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife Pat, sons Amrish and Bhishma, adopted daughters Gail and Lita, grandchildren Ialam, Hep, Heprit and Aryella, and daughter-in-laws Bhavna and Laura.

We will miss you.

Kumaran and I are deeply saddened learning about uncles passing. I still remember all those years at our Pickering side by side homes where dad and uncle worked on their cars while we all played outside. He was a great man and very kind.
We wish for strength for the family during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
