In memory of

Jagdip Deokiesingh

March 20, 1933 -  February 23, 2019

It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our father, husband, brother, uncle, grandfather, friend and teacher, Jagdip Deokiesingh, with his immediate family by his side, on February 23, 2019. Husband of Jasmattee (Jasmine), Father of son Garvin (Camille), daughter Charmaine (Kirtel), granddaughters, Ambika, Karli and Nisha. Survived by sisters Sylvie and Molly, and brother Selwyn (Boyon). Survived by many nephews and nieces throughout Canada, US and Trinidad. Predeceased by brothers Ajodha (Badin), Ramnarine, Sookpaul, Jairam and Sylvan (Bato).

Jagdip was born March 20, 1933 in Trinidad and Tobago where he was a successful student and teacher. He took advantage of an opportunity to come to Canada with his young family and settled in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, working for the Kirkland Lake District School Board, as Vice-Principal then Principal. He enjoyed working at the schools in Matachewan, Larder Lake, Virginiatown and Kirkland Lake.

He remained in Kirkland Lake until he retired in 1988, and then moved to Brampton to enjoy the next phase of his life. He welcomed the opportunity to help his granddaughters grow, to spend time reading and exercising, and to provide his support to the Canadian Hindu Divine Light Organization. All these activities gave him great joy through his retirement years. He also took time to travel with his family on cruises covering many countries, and one of his favourite trips was to Alaska with his brothers and sisters.

Please join us for his Funeral Service on February 26th at 11 am at the Meadowvale Cemetery, with Cremation to follow.
