It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Jacqueline (Jackie) Steinwall, a beloved daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great aunt, niece, cousin and friend. Jackie was born on October 31, 1966, in Colombo, Sri Lanka. She peacefully passed away at Quinte Hospice on January 20th surrounded by her family after a year long courageous battle with gastric cancer.
Jackie leaves behind a family that adored her. She was a devoted daughter to her mother, Yvonne, predeceased by her father, Marcian. She was a lifelong partner-in-crime for her sister, Candy, and subsequently brother-in-law, Glenn. She was the world’s best aunt to Ryan (Michelle), Adam and Jack (Jayden) and great-aunt to Ava. Jackie was a vibrant part of her extended family and will be greatly missed by all her aunts, uncles and cousins. She had a big circle of friends who were her second family and gave her so much joy.
Jackie forged an impressive career in the pharmaceutical industry for over 35 years. She received amazing fulfillment from her many roles and established strong working and personal relationships.
Jackie was a ball of energy and light who was the life of the party as soon as she entered the room. Her infectious smile and laugh will be missed by everyone who knew her.
The family kindly requests donations be made to either the Canadian Cancer Society or Quinte Hospice in honour of Jackie Steinwall in lieu of flowers.
Jackie always lived her life to the fullest from her love of designer purses to her passion for family trips. She was a voracious reader and loved musical theatre. There are a thousand other facets of her personality that cannot be contained here but are part of the fabric of anyone that knew and loved her. Jackie always loved a good quote so we would like to finish with a line from one of her favourite musicals, Wicked because it sums up how we feel. “Because I knew you, I have been changed for good!”
