In memory of

Jennie Lim (Mrs Don Chee Lim) 林立夫人

November 2, 1932 -  December 6, 2022

Mrs. Jennie Jack Moon Lim (née Lee) was born on October 24, 1932 in Taishan, Guangdong, China. She was the sibling to two sisters and a brother.

Jennie completed her high school in Taishan and went to teacher’s college. She later went on to become a nurse working in China and Hong Kong.

In 1950, she married her lifelong husband Don Chee Lim. Jennie gave birth to two sons: Bill and Howard. In 1964 Jennie and her sons immigrated to Hong Kong and then to Gananoque, Ontario, Canada. To support her family in Canada, Jennie worked in the Modern Café Restaurant until her sons became a doctorate of medicine and dental surgery. In 1970, Jennie’s husband Don immigrated to Canada to rejoin his family.

In the early 1980’s, Jennie and Don moved to Toronto, where they lived out the rest of their lives together. Jennie, along with her husband, were actively engaged in the Chinese community, where she was well known and well respected.

Jennie is survived by her sons Bill and Howard and his wife Eva; her three grandchildren Hilda and Jason, both doctors, from the marriage of Bill and Emily, and Stefanie, a veterinary neurosurgeon, from the marriage of Howard and Eva; and her two great grandchildren Kyla and Nicholas Tuling from the marriage of Hilda and Ryan Tuling.

Jennie’s husband, Don had passed away on December 2, 2020 in Toronto.
Jennie Lim has passed away peacefully on December 6, 2022 in Toronto.
