In memory of

Jabari Bioni "Black Tyger" Thomas

May 24, 1973 -  May 19, 2021

It is with the deepest sorrow in our hearts that we say goodbye to our son, brother, father, partner, uncle and friend. Jabari Bioni Thomas passed suddenly in his home on May 19 2021. With no warning we were forced to say goodbye to this most loyal, funny, and devoted man. He is survived by his two children Raiden and Riana, whom he was immensely proud of, his partner Soo Yee Wong, his parents Barry and Sharron Thomas, brothers Husani, Anane and sister Abeni. His godsons, Josiah, Ky-Mani and Ignatius along with many nieces and nephews whom he loved like his own. And many people who have called him brother.

Jabari was not only dedicated but proud of his work with Magna for over 20 years at two sites, having worked as an employee advocate, chair of the fairness committee, lead with the ergonomics and doing trainings. He was an accomplished black belt in karate; when dedicated to this sport he was able to achieve his goals in only a few short months. Jabari was skilled at many sports, including basketball with his best friends of his youth, volleyball and his crazy vertical, and soccer. Black Tyger, as he was known to his friends in the RC family, loved to share new ideas, build and drive, but especially win.  Jabari also enjoyed hobbies like Warhammer, building bikes, and spending countless hours playing video games. But it was his love for his children and Soo Yee that he lived for. As a father, he loved to go bike riding with his family and just go out on excursions with them. He was a man who would make time for anyone, went the extra mile to always reach out, and made you laugh. He would just break out in song, or start dancing, and then get you to join in. It is his big heart, his dedication, and his immense love for life that will be most missed.

I am so sorry to Jabari’s family. Jabari’s passing has created a void in our friend group that we couldn’t even imagine. He was a brother to us. Socrawl will never be the same! My favourite memory was dancing at heather and Kevin’s wedding in Guelph in 2019, or all the events we went to, our coffee nights with Josh and the guys!! He is missed by all of us.
