Ivan Arnold Hannays Jr. of Scarborough, Ontario, (formerly of Montreal, Quebec) entered peacefully into rest on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at the age of 71. He was born on March 9, 1953 in Georgetown, Guyana.

Son of Ivan Arnold Hannays Sr. and the late Hyacinth Hannays.

Father of Lenore Gabriel, Chanda Holmes, Loreena Gabriel, Alysia Gabriel, Ivan Jr. Edward Hannays and Amanda Parris-Hannays.

Grandfather of Tiyjaaniy Gabriel, Malacai Gabriel, Ava Barnswell, and Ayden Barnswell.

Brother of the late Norma Edwards, the late Faye Hannays, Jacqueline Hannays-Rock (Ronald Rock), Royston Hannays (Angela Hannays) and Camille Hannays-King (Rodney King).

Uncle of Jermaine Edwards-Nurse (Keisha Gibson), Jurell King, Jhordan King (Alicia Brown), Jarrett Rock, Jaleel Rock, Jaden Hannays.

Nephew of the late Zilda Carroll, Patricia Nichols, Victor Samuels and Joan Brooms.

Cousin of Denae Nichols and Deneka Alvarez of Toronto, Sherry Watts, Ingrid Bradshaw, Anthony Carroll, Glendon Carroll, Barbara Doobay, Sharon Brown and Shawin Carroll of New Jersey, Shaun Samuels and Marcia Jackson of Washington, DC, Karen Cordova and Marylyn Benn of New York.

Visitation will be held at THORNTON CEMETERY & FUNERAL CENTRE, 1200 Thornton Road North, Oshawa, (South of Taunton Road and off of Dryden Blvd, 905-579-6787) on Friday April 5 from 11 am until time of Funeral Service at 12 noon.
Service will be Webcast.

Floral tributes may be delivered to Thornton Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Centre no later than Thursday, April 4, 2024.
