In memory of

Irvin John Spring

December 20, 1933 -  November 20, 2023

Irvin passed on Monday, after a long battle with Parkinson’s, and is now at peace and with God. He leaves behind his loving and adoring wife Helen, and daughters, Linda, Stella, Gloria, Carol, and late son Stephen. Granddaughters Allison, Jessa, and Stella Maria, as well as late grandson Glen, and great grandchildren Bronwyn and Jack.

Irvin spent over 40 years dedicating his career to State Farm Insurance in Canada, and operated his own agency, after emigrating from England to Canada with the family in 1970. He was a fierce advocate for education and adventure. He was a man of few words, and when he spoke, his words would weigh in. He loved music and travel, and was never shy to strike up a conversation with a complete stranger, which would sometimes make Helen blush. His love of the water brought Irvin and Helen all over the world, and when they weren’t traveling, they enjoyed many days at their lakefront cottage in the Kawarthas, where he loved fishing and playing cards, as well as enjoying Quarter Horse and Standard horse claiming at the local Ontario race tracks.

We will remember him with the utmost joy and love in our hearts, and fond memories that we can all look back on with respect, honor, gratitude, and adoration. We love you Papa. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Paul’s Anglican Church food bank., Pickering, ON.

Irvin’s dry sense of humour hard work joy of life and travelling will be missed by Helen and his family whom he absolutely adored and loved.
He truly was a character and I will miss him very much.

Rest in peace Irv, I have fond memories of our years working together and we were a good team. So happy to have met you so many years ago and that we have been able to stay in touch, sending hugs.

Can’t really express how much I enjoyed my years of sharing office space with Irv and our fishing trips. Sadly, I have lost touch with him and Helen in the last few years ( since I moved to the Belleville area).

Irvin came into my life in 1991.

A very kind and caring man , with a great sense of humor. We were both big football fans, and I enjoyed watching English Premier League games with him at the house in Pickering, and debating the merits of our respective teams at Latham family get togethers. We had a great lads night out in July 2010 when his team (Manchester United) played my team (Celtic) at the Skydome in Toronto

Go with the angels Irvin.
