Iris Terthwattie Ramotar

February 26, 1943 -  January 17, 2025

Sadly, our beloved Iris Ramotar of Toronto, passed away on January 17th, 2025.

Iris was born on February 26th, 1943 to Harry and Umrai (Kaisee) Gobin in Windsor Forest, Guyana.
After graduating from St. Joseph’s High School in Georgetown Guyana she went on to study Nursing in Durham, England. She was also a Midwife in Durham.

She left a lasting impact and made many lifelong friends.

She returned to Guyana for a few years and later married Ramnauth and moved to Canada.
She began a new chapter in her life, going on to have a son, the most precious achievement in her life.

She was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Umrai (Kaisee) Gobin and sister Jean.
Iris was a loving wife to Ramnauth, devoted mother to David and cherished sister to Patricia and Rita.
She became a valued sister in law to Samaroo, Soogrim, Dhanpat, Wilfred, Etwaria, Victor, Jane and Peter. She was also an aunt to numerous nephews and nieces.

Those we love don’t go away,
they walk beside us everyday..
unseen, unheard, but always near,
still loved, still missed and very dear.
