In memory of

Irina Dvorkina

January 29, 1960 -  June 11, 2024

Irina Dvorkina (née Sachkova), 64, passed away unexpectedly on June 11, 2024, after a very rapid but courageous battle with cancer.

Born on January 29, 1960, Irina was the older of two daughters of Ludmila and Sergei Sachkov. She spent her childhood growing up in Yaroslavl, Russia, along with her younger sister Svetlana. From an early age, Irina developed a curiosity for foreign studies and languages, as well as applied arts such as drawing, sewing, knitting, painting, and sculpting.

In 1981, Irina married her high school sweetheart, Evgueni Dvorkine, which marked the beginning a lifelong journey of love and harmony. Together they raised their two children, Elina and Vadim; in 1995 they immigrated to Canada.

Irina's inquisitive nature and thirst for knowledge made her a walking encyclopedia, always eager to learn and share her knowledge with others. She leaves behind a colorful legacy that will inspire endless memories of her for all those who had the pleasure of meeting her.

Irina was an incredibly kind and selfless person, always going out of her way to help anyone around her. Her generosity and compassion touched the lives of all who knew her. She was outstanding in her roles such as a daughter, older sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and a friend...

Irina will be missed deeply.

I don’t know how to function without Irina. It’s not enough to say that this loss is irreparable. It’s a forever void from which I will never recover. She guided me in life and in work every day for 27 years. My days are dark now.
