Ferguson, Irene May (McCarthy) passed away in Oakville on November 20, 2018, at 104 years old. Irene ("Rini") was born in Toronto on June 7, 1914. Pre-deceased by her loving husband, George.

Mother to Wayne Ramsay (Charla), Roy (Beverley) and Dan (Vilma). Grandmother to Ian (Kate), Grant (Christine), Matthew (Vicki), Emma and Erika. Great-grandmother to Beatrice, Vimy, Ruby, Ingrid and a fifth great-grandchild due any day.

She will be missed by family and friends and remembered for her quick wit, hearty laugh and skill making strawberry jam, chili sauce and pastries of all sorts. She grew up in a small house in Davenport, west Toronto, one of nine children. George and Irene were residents of Trafalgar (north Oakville) where Irene presided over the garden and two kitchens (summer and indoor).

Irene was a Christian and at peace with her death and what awaited her.

In lieu of flowers, you can make a donation in memory of Irene to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Sending sincere condolences to Dan, Roy, Wayne and families. It was always a pleasure to visit with you Mom at OSCR. We are very happy to have visited with her this past August. She was very upbeat and we really enjoyed spending time with her.
