In memory of

Ingrid Kivlenieks

September 10, 1964 -  November 10, 2020

Ingrid Linda Kivlenieks (nee Unterbergs)

It is with tremendous sorrow that we share the news of the passing of our dearest Ingrid. Born in Toronto on September 10, 1964 to proud and loving parents, Raita (nee Kupcis) and Haralds Unterbergs (predeceased 1977). Loving and doting mother to Nicholas and Michelle (husband Jay) and their fur baby, Bandit. Ingrid is survived by her sisters Sandra (husband Zintis) and Anita (husband Charles), and will always be remembered by her nieces and nephew Guntars, Mara, Daila, Emily and Ally. She will be sadly missed by her Aunt and Uncle and God Parents, Baiba and Ojars Kupcis, along with all of our extended family.

Ingrid was a tremendous mother to Nick and Michelle. Raising them as a single Mom, she instilled empathy, compassion, fairness, and unconditional love. Her kindness could be seen in everything she did, always putting others’ needs before her own. Ingrid’s creativity always shone through in the many cards and gifts she would create for family members that will now be cherished mementos. Ingrid always worked hard to balance her personal life and a long career at OLG. Her favourite time of year was her summer vacation at Paudash Lake, always creating unforgettable memories and family experiences.

Ingrid was diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumour in 2017. She continued to show strength and perseverance through to her last days. She was surrounded by loved ones every step of the way, sharing memories and enjoying a slice of cake whenever possible. Ingrid had such a large presence in the lives of those around her, and her absence will always be felt.

Due to COVID19, a private family service has been held. If you wish to make a donation, please make it in support of the Dorothy Ley Hospice that, along with their fabulous staff and care-givers provided Ingrid and our family such kind and caring support.

Please feel free to upload your memories and photos as you help celebrate the life of Ingrid.

I am so deeply saddened to hear of Ingrid's passing. I'll miss her infectious smile, her kindness and her friendship. Ingrid gave 1000% of herself to her work and those around her. She touched many many people during her time at OLG and left an indelible impression on all of us.
Personally, she was a great friend to me. I am so grateful to have met her and had her in my life these past 5 years.

My condolences to your family. Ever since I started at OLG I could rely on Ingrid to give me support not just professionally but as a great colleague and friend at the office. She made me feel good when I went into the office. I could tell also she was such a proud mom when I spoke with her as she really loved her kids.

May you find strength at this time and cherish your fond memories.
