In memory of

趙李美濃太夫人 Ida Chiu

June 9, 1919 -  May 1, 2019

Ida Chiu, age 99 passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Scarborough General Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband, Man Chung Chiu (1918-1989), she is survived by her five children, Grace (Chuk Jung), Pauline (Denis Fung), Tony (Helen Chiu), David, and Annie. She was also blessed with many grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She enjoyed her life to the fullest, and was often found in her kitchen testing out new recipes and cooking for her friends and family. Her grandchildren often request her to cook their favourite foods, such as, "cheoung fun", "joong", and barbecue pork buns. In her spare time, her and her girlfriends would often ride the Casino Rama bus for a night out of fun and excitement. Ida never had a dull moment in her life. She will be remembered and missed dearly.

What a beautiful picture displayed on this site. Great job, Alex. We are so sorry to hear about Ida's passing. We have very much missed her for the last few years as our neighbour as it was always wonderful to chat with her for a few minutes and hear her enthusiastic greetings to us, whenever we met her in our backyards. We missed passing food back and forth over the fence, sharing either the foods that came from our kitchens and gardens. We are so sorry that we never got a chance to say goodbye to her. We will miss you, Ida and wish your family all the best during this very sad time.
