In memory of

Ian Kingsley

February 5, 1950 -  August 22, 2023

Devoted husband, father, friend, colleague, and mentor - someone who was truly larger than life.
Ian Kingsley passed away unexpectedly on August 22, 2023 at Toronto General Hospital surrounded by his beloved family.

Loving husband of Marilyn (Kosmachuk), devoted father of Stephanie (Juan), Jeffrey, and stepfather to John (Rebecca), James (Elisabeth), and Andrew (Shayni). Proud grandfather of Logan, Liam, Henry, Jake, Mason, Bentley (predeceased) and future grandson coming this October. Loving brother of Lorraine (predeceased) and uncle to Rob (Pitija), Sarah, and James (predeceased).

Ian was born in Forest Gate, Great Britain on February 5th, 1950 to Eric and Irene Kingsley. In 1957 Ian and his family moved to Canada, settling in Ontario. He was a proud owner and the dedicated General Manager of Whitby Toyota for over 30 years where he always went above and beyond to help his loyal staff and customers. He always looked out for others and changed the lives of many.

A loyal supporter of the Lakeridge Health Foundation, Whitby Minor Hockey Association, and many others, Ian was always generously willing to give and to help anyone from all walks of life. He was proud of his community and did whatever he could to make it a better place.

In his personal time, Ian had an incredible love for playing the drums to classic rock, motorsports, classic cars, and beach and boat days in Florida. He also enjoyed watching sports of all kinds with family and friends. His laugh, sense of humour, and smile will be imprinted on everyone that knew him for a lifetime.

A celebration of Ian's life will be held at the family home that he was so proud to share with everyone who knew him. The ceremony will take place at 3385 Sideline 4, Pickering, Ontario on Sunday, September 3rd at 2:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Toronto General Hospital where he appreciated the care that he received from all of the TGH staff.

Ian and I were classmates at Cedarbrae Collegiate , in Scarborough ,
we both loved classic cars and had Corvettes at the same time. We would sometimes have drag racing after school until we got caught. We both worked at different GM dealers, Ian was UCM and I was NCM at different dealers. We reunited our friendship a few years ago and I would often go to his store and talk about the old days and how successful he became. He was always generous and caring about his staff and family. He will be greatly missed by his family and the multitude of friend's he garnered over the years.God bless you for all you are what you have done.

Very glad I knew this one of a kind man.
His sense of humour was awesome.
He was always there when I needed him.
And always seemed to know what to say and when to say it.
I will miss him a lot.
And I will never forget him.
Cheers Andrew Fergus Ward
