In memory of
岑雄 Hung Sam
January 15, 1930 -
October 10, 2024
In loving memory of 岑雄 Hung Sam.
Hung Sam peacefully passed away on October 10, 2024, surrounded by loved ones, at the age of 94. He is the beloved husband of Yuet Yin, devoted father of Kenny (Jenny) and Edmond (Rinko), and loving grandfather of Madeleine, Jacqueline, Breanna, and Kaito.
Born in Hong Kong on January 15th, 1930, he was the eldest son of six siblings. Through determination and hard work, he attended night school and graduated with distinction from Hong Kong Technical College (now known as Hong Kong Polytechnic University) with a degree in mechanical engineering.
In 1963, he married his partner in life, Yuet Yin. From their wedding day to their final days together in the care home, they were inseparable, always seen holding hands.
While living in Hong Kong, he was always excited to share the beauty of nature with his sons through hikes, beach days, and day trips. In 1986, Hung and Yuet Yin moved to Canada to provide a better life for their children and future generations. As a testament to his perseverance, he had multiple jobs as a teacher and as an owner of a Dairy Queen.
After retirement, he enjoyed travelling with his wife to experience new cultures, often documenting their travels in photo albums filled with little anecdotes and fun facts.
He found immense joy in being surrounded by his family, and would quietly take in all the laughter, chaos, and conversations with a smile. He enjoyed photography, but his favourite subjects to photograph were always his loved ones.
Above all, what he loved most was being with his family and listening to all their life updates and stories. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on forever through his children and grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at The Simple Alternative - Mississauga on Friday, October 18th, 2024 at 10:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for a donation to Carefirst Seniors & Community Services Association.
