Huazhen Maria Yang – Devoted mother and Caregiver.

Huazhen Maria Yang, 84, passed away Friday, August 4, 2023, in Toronto.

She was born April 9, 1939, into a Chinese Catholic family in Hebei, China. She was the youngest of four siblings. At that time, war was raging in China. Peace finally descended on the war-ravaged land when she was 11 years old.

She married Ruiheng Yu on January 13, 1960. They became each other’s lifelong companions and best friends. They were blessed with four children, Jianping, Liping, Anqi, and Jian Zhuang; and five grandchildren, Aoda, Aofei, Aolei, Faith and Luke; and three great grandchildren, Ziyan, Xinran, and Aaron. One great granddaughter is on the way.

Huazhen and Ruiheng moved to Canada in 2004 after their retirement. They loved their adopted new homeland. She kept her Catholic faith strong, never lost her hope for meeting our Lord in Heaven.

Huazhen will be forever missed by her loving husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family, and friends.
