In memory of

Hop-Ping Lam

January 14, 1950 -  February 6, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Hop-Ping (Betty) Lam, who peacefully left us on February 6, 2025, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with breast cancer.

Born on January 14, 1950, Betty faced life's challenges with unwavering determination and grace. She was known for her sharp wit, her caring nature, and her ability to make everyone around her feel special and valued. Betty’s legacy is one of unyielding kindness, generosity, strength, resilience, and, above all, unconditional love for her family and friends.

One of Betty’s proudest accomplishments was raising three children, and four grandchildren. She immigrated to Canada from Hong Kong at a young age of 24 years working tirelessly to build a life full of love and opportunities for her children. Betty was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, William Ting-Fan, and is survived by her children, Sophia (Farhan), Judy (Douglas), and Stephen, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Ellen, Eric, Linah, and Kamran, who were the center and joy of her life.

Betty’s loss is immensely felt by many who knew her. A celebration of her remarkable life will be held on February 15, 2025 at 8:30-11:30 am at Elgin Mills Cemetery located at 1591 Elgin Mills Road East, Richmond Hill. All are welcome to attend to honor and remember her.
