With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Homer "Bunny" Leroy Lennon of Thornhill, Ontario, who went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 3rd, 2024.
Homer was born on August 6, 1946, in Bath, Jamaica, the firstborn son of Lydia Simmons Lennon and Harold Lennon.
He is survived by his stepmother, Joan Lennon; sister-in-law, Gerri Lennon; nieces Kimberley, Jaidyn, Mikayla, and Olivia Lennon; sisters Dawn Marie Angus (Neville), Marcia Burnett (Karl), Jacqueline Horne (Tommy), Audrey Birchall, and Avril Lennon; stepsister Violette Haldane; brothers Merv Lennon (Crystal), Wavell Dale, and Christopher Dale; aunts Madge Wright (Karl) and Lola Burthwright, along with numerous beloved nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Homer was predeceased by his grandmother, Catherine Simmons; father, Harold Lennon; mother, Lydia Lennon; and brother, Trevor Lennon.
Known for his rare warmth and generosity, Homer left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness, humility, and unwavering support of others defined his life.
Homer worked at Gorman Distributing for over 41 years, starting in the warehouse and rising through the ranks. In 2005, he became the Head Confectionery Purchaser and was one of the first recipients of the Spiritous Award, which recognized his selflessness and commitment to his colleagues and the company.
A devoted member of Willowdale Baptist Church, Homer was active in the Seniors and 55+ groups, where his faith and love for others shone brightly. He was also passionate about several charitable organizations, which he supported with generosity and a heart full of love.
A loyal fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and the Dallas Cowboys, Homer enjoyed keeping up with the latest scores and sharing his knowledge of the games with friends and family.
The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to all those who have offered their support, prayers, and words of comfort during this difficult time. In remembrance of Homer, the family asks that donations be made in his name to The Scott Mission, Yonge Street Mission, Samaritan's Purse, or MS Canada, in lieu of flowers.
Homer’s legacy of kindness, faith, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
