After a long journey in life, giving us 58 wonderful years of herself, Ho Hung Chan’s (陳可紅) body succumbed to cancer around 3 PM of November 29th, 2016. She is survived by her husband: Yan Wah Wong, and her 3 sons: Man Kwong Wong, Man Ho Wong, Man Wui Wong.

Ho Hung Chan, who prefers the English name of Teresa, was born on December 2nd, 1957 in Hong Kong, and is the youngest of three children. She was a cheerful, free-spirited person, and met the love of her life at the tender age of 13, whom she married 10 years later. Together, they went on many adventures, travelling to various Asian countries: Thailand, Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, China, and many others. She emigrated with her husband and children in 1996, and have been living together in Toronto since.

Teresa was a dedicated wife and mother, having raised three boys. She always ensured that everyone is warm, well-fed, and well-protected She was also a child-at-heart, and an animal-lover. She had many pets, and would feed hungry squirrels that came knocking at her backyard door. Feeding hungry, door-knocking squirrels quickly became part of the family traditions and grocery bill. She was a quick learner and quickly became adept at using the family computer, her first tablet PC (a HP TouchPad), and her first smart phone (a HTC Wildfire S). She was, and still is, truly a great source of joy, inspiration, and wonder for her family and friends.

Teresa faced her cancer with optimism and bravery, along with her doctors, nurses, friends, and family. First diagnosed in 2011, she beat it back in 2012 to everyone’s great joy; however, her cancer returned in 2015.

Teresa requested to be buried. Her remains will be buried in York Cemetery, with two big trees protecting her resting place, and where she will be close to home. A simple funeral service will be held for her on Friday, December 2nd, 2016 at York Funeral Home, on the same date as her birthday.

A loving wife, and wonderful mother, we shall remember all that she has done for us. Her spirit, and her soul shall live on.
